The girls and boys cross country teams wrapped up the season this morning at the State Cross Country Championships in Round Rock. It was a perfect day for a race, and our teams took full advantage, turning in some amazing performances. Our girls team finished a strong 3rd to place on the podium for the third consecutive year. They were led by Molly Garrison’s unbelievable 2nd place overall finish, clocking in with a time of 17:53.50. The rest of the team knew that we would have to run strong and finish close together to get back on the podium, and that is exactly what they did.
The boys team was not to be outdone, finishing an incredible 4th place as a team – the best team finish at State ever. They were led by Tyler Connelly’s strong 3rd place overall finish in a time of 15:10.80. The boys also knew that they would have to battle and finish close together, which they did.
What a way to finish the season! I couldn’t be prouder of the effort and dedication that these athletes have put forth throughout the season. Way to go Ladycats and Bearcats!!
