Another BIG day for Aledo Cross Country!
The Ladycats & Bearcats put together a strong day of racing at the James Smith Invitational on Aug. 27, bringing home three team titles and a runner-up finish! The Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, and JV Girls each won their divisions, while the JV Boys battled their way to a 2nd place finish.
Aledo also came away with THREE individual champions! Holland Gladchuk led the Varsity Girls with a 1st place finish, Gianna Kenneally took the individual title in the JV Girls race, and Andrew Walsh crossed the line first for the JV Boys.
The Varsity Girls made a statement at the front of the race, sweeping the top FOUR spots! Holland Gladchuk took the win, followed by Austyn Waitrek in 2nd, Cecilia Frank in 3rd, and Isabel Rush in 4th.
The Varsity Boys put together an impressive team performance of their own, packing six runners into the top nine. Even more impressive, Aledo put together this performance while competing without two of our top runners this week. Both are expected back in the lineup next week as we head to Denton for the Marcus Coach T Invitational.
The Coach T Invitational will be a big step up in competition and one of our strongest tests of the season so far. With a deeper field and some great programs on the starting line, we are excited to have our full group back together and see how the Ladycats & Bearcats respond against some really good competition!
Three team titles. Three individual champions. Plenty more ahead.
GO LADYCATS & BEARCATS!!
