Thursday kicked off the Durant Baseball Classic, with the tournament set to end Saturday.

Teams came from South Grand Praire, Abilene, Northwest Crowley, Mansfield Legacy, Azle, Weatherford, and Birdville.

Aledo Bearcats won against South Grand Praire, 11-4, in their first game of the tournament.

The Bearcats went on to win against Crowley, 10-4.

Abilene bested the Bearcats 4-2, with Birdville besting the Bearcats 7-3.

The Bearcats were ranked No. 3 in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association preseason polls released Jan. 28.
