The girls 200 Yard Medley Relay swam in Regionals last year and earned a time of 1:55.17 in A Finals. This year will return this year with a seed-time of 2:01.32. They are ranked 3rd in that event and it looks like they have a good chance of qualifying for State this year. This year’s swimmers are: Charlotte Lane, Hannah Farmer, C.J. Pfeil, and Hanah Terrell.

The boys 200 Yard Medley Relay competed in Regionals last year and earned a time of 2:04.87. They will return to Regionals this year with a seed time of 1:48.90. They are ranked 7th overall. It is not likely that they will qualify for State this year, but they drop time every time they swim together and that will likely happen again at Regionals. The swimmers in the Medley Relay for Regionals will be: Connor Allen, Drew Pennington, Justin Lemons, and Kevin Thiemann.

The girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay will compete in Regionals with a time of 1:51.85. They are ranked 6th in that event. They will not likely qualify for State this year but they drop time every time they swim together; anything is possible with these ladies. The swimmers are: Hanah Terrell, Charlotte Lane, C.J. Pfeil, and Hannah Farmer.

The boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay is ranked 8th at Regionals. Their time is too slow for state this year. They swam it for the first time at Districts and earned a time of 3:43.85. I’m excited to see what happens with these four swimmers next year. The swimmers are: Conner Allen, Justin Lemons, Drew Pennington, and Kevin Thiemann.

Hannah Farmer is the Aledo Swim Team swimmer to watch this year. She qualified for State last year and she will qualify for State again this year. She is ranked 1st in Regionals in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.72 and in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.45.

Hanah Terrell has qualified for the 200 Yard Individual Medley and the 100 Yard Freestyle. She swam both of these races last year. Her times will not likely qualify her for State but I am confident that she will qualify for finals at Regionals.

C.J. Pfeil has qualified for the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 100 Yard Butterfly. C.J. is a Senior and has a great swim career at Aledo High School. She will qualify for finals at Regionals. Her times will need to drop a lot if she is to qualify for State this year.

Charlotte Lane is a Freshman and she qualified for Regionals in the 500 Yard Freestyle. She dropped a lot of time at Districts and I expect to see similar results at Regionals. She will qualify for finals at Regionals. Her time of 6:10.57 may not be fast enough for State this year, however, it’s a great start for next year. I am certain we will see her compete in State next year.

Nicholas Daniels is a Freshman. He will swim the 200 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Freestyle at Regionals. He is ranked 6th in the 200 with a time of 1:52.07 and 4th in the 100 with a time of 50.12. If he can drop some time he will qualify for State. There is steep competition in both events and so predictions are a guess at best.

Elijah Sohn will compete in the 100 Yard Freestyle and the 50 Yard Freestyle. He made it to Regionals last year in the 50 Yard Freestyle. He is ranked 5th in the 50 with a time of 23.09 and 7th in the 100 with a time of 51.04. Both of these events are very competitive and the difference between a win and a loss could be based solely on having a good meet. If he can drop some time, he will qualify for State.

Drew Pennington is a Freshman this year. He has qualified in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 100 Yard Breaststroke. He is ranked 18th in the 100 Butterfly and will not likely qualify for State this year. He is ranked 6th in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.32. If he can drop time, he will qualify for State. The competition in the 100 Breaststroke is good this year.

The top two swimmers from Regionals qualify for State each year. Others swimmers can also qualify if their times are fast and they are called up by the State competition. I am certain that Hannah Farmer will qualify for State again this year. All other swimmers will need to drop a lot of time so that they can qualify. Our team is not facing insurmountable challenges, but they will need to focus on their events and practice hard for the next two weeks.
