Day 1 of the Area Track meet was held at Clark Stadium in Fort Worth. The Ladycats had a good first day!

Freshman Reagan Brown placed 7th in the 3200. Junior Erin Weiss placed 4th in the discus and 3rd in the shot put. Sophomore Alaina Touchet placed 4th in the shot put, as well. Coach Wheeler, as usual, has done a fantastic job with all of our throwers this season.

Sophomores Tysley Valencia and Ellie Reese placed 5th and 6th respectively in the long jump. Junior Mackenzie Lyon placed 2nd in the Pole vault with a personal record of 11’ 3”; not to be outdone, Freshman Sierra White tied her personal record to win the pole vault with a jump of 11’ 6”. Coach Rhodes has the vaulters peaking at the right time going into Regionals next week.

The Ladycats scored 35 points in the field events and have already qualified 4 girls for regionals going into today’s running finals. Those will begin today at 5:30.
