Thursday night the Ladycats finished competition in the 7- & 8-5A Area Track meet. The Ladycats had several strong finishes!

Freshman Sierra White added to her Pole Vault success, by placing 3rd in the 100m hurdles. She qualified for Regionals, but sustained an ankle injury coming off of the last hurdle. We are all hoping for quick recovery for her!!

Another Freshman Reagan Brown placed 7th in the 1600m run.

The 4x100m relay placed 2nd overall with a season best time of 48.83. Relay members include Ellie Reese (10), Krissy Johnson (12), Tysley Valencia (10), and Kia Jordan (11).

The 4x200m relay placed 5th just off their season best time from last week. Ellie, Krissy, Lydia Lawrence (9), and Kia ran the race in a time of 1:44.40, just .3 from qualifying for Regionals.

The highlight of the night came from Junior Kia Jordan. She flew past the competition to win the 100m dash in a personal best time of 11.79. This crushed her school record from last season, which was an 11.92.

Overall, the Ladycats will be taking 10 girls to Regionals in Lubbock next week. We are looking forward to competing at the next level and the opportunity to qualify for State!
