The Aledo varsity tennis team continued district play with a close loss against a strong Abilene Wylie team. Aledo took an early 4-3 lead posting wins in doubles from all girls’ pairings and mixed doubles. Wylie went on to take 9 of 12 singles matches for a 12-7 victory. The loss moves Aledo to 2-1 in district play for the season. Aledo is currently 2nd in the district standings with Wichita Falls Rider one spot behind going into Saturday’s match.

In non-district play Aledo faced Richland High School and came away with the win. Aledo took 5 of 7 doubles matches to take an early lead. Adding 6 wins in singles, Aledo took the victory 11-8. The non-district win moves Aledo’s overall record to 9-4 on the season. AHS will host Wichita Falls Rider on Saturday September 29th for their final district match. JV will begin at 9 am followed by Varsity at 11 am.
